UnitedHealth Group is seeking a senior IT professional to design, build, and maintain scalable Big Data and cloud analytics solutions. The role focuses on analytics engines, APIs, and AI/ML models, with cross-team collaboration across architecture, QA, and product management.

Remote work is supported from anywhere in the U.S. The position emphasizes hands-on development, architecture input, and continuous learning, aligned with Optum’s data-driven care initiatives.

Formación

• 12+ years of professional IT experience.
• 8+ years developing software applications.
• 5+ years with Scala, Python, JSON, and Web Services.
• 3+ years cloud experience (Azure/AWS).
• 2+ years building RESTful services in production.
• 2+ years with Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, or Snowflake.
• 2+ years MySQL and NoSQL databases.
• 2+ years with Agile delivery methodologies.
• 2+ years AI/ML driven solutions.
• 1+ years building services or full stack apps (FastAPI, Flask, Node.js, React, Angular, TypeScript, HTML/CSS).

Responsabilidades

• Design, code, test, document, and maintain high-quality Big Data, Cloud solutions.
• Design, develop and implement analytics rules engines.
• Research, evaluate, and deploy new tools, frameworks, and patterns for a sustainable Big Data platform.
• Identify gaps and opportunities for improvement of existing solutions.
• Define and develop APIs for integration with various data sources in the enterprise.
• Analyze and define customer requirements.
• Assist in defining product technical architecture.
• Make accurate development effort estimates for planning.
• Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts and AI/ML model designs; perform code reviews.
• Collaborate with management, QA, architecture, and other teams.
• Write technical documentation and participate in production support.
• Keep skills up to date through ongoing self-directed training.
