Job summary

Komodo Health is expanding its Infrastructure team to build and operate a cloud-native stack across AWS, Kubernetes, and associated tooling. The role emphasizes security, cost optimization, and scalable platform engineering in a fast-growing environment.

You will own architecture and modernization of cloud infrastructure, drive GitOps workflows, and shape AI-assisted practices while ensuring compliance with HIPAA/SOC2 and delivering reliable, scalable services for the engineering organization.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure, cloud, or platform engineering with production-scale AWS
• IaC proficiency with Terraform as default working mode
• Kubernetes platform ownership, operating the platform itself
• Ownership of ambiguous or under-documented systems and bringing to a well-operated state
• Fluency with AI-assisted engineering tools and safe application
• Security/compliance fluency in a regulated environment (HIPAA, SOC2)

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, operating model, and modernization roadmap for cloud infrastructure and shared services
• Design, build, and operate AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as code (Terraform) via GitOps (ArgoCD) and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
• Set standards for AI-assisted infrastructure work and raise team fluency
• Harden security posture: least-privilege IAM, identity management, network boundaries, secrets hygiene
• Drive infrastructure optimization for reliability, scalability, developer experience, and cost
• Raise the technical bar through design reviews, mentorship, and documentation
• Participate in on-call rotation, incident response, and runbooks improvements
