Job summary

Thrivent seeks a senior leader to own financial data, reporting processes, and accounting operations, guiding governance and continuous improvement of reporting across Controller & Treasury. You will influence data quality, scalability, and controls while partnering with Accounting, Investments, Operations and Technology to inform business decisions.

This full-time remote role allows nationwide applicants. You will lead complex analyses, support audits, and drive automation and process redesign

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, operations, or systems-related roles.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, financial processes, and system-enabled workflows.
• Proficiency with data tools (Power Query, Power BI) and financial systems, with ability to support process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and subject matter expertise for accounting, reporting, and operational processes, ensuring accurate financial outcomes and regulatory compliance.
• Guide how we model and automate complex accounting and reporting matters with leadership collaboration.
• Lead complex analysis of financial and operational data with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and drive improvements.
• Support audits, regulatory examinations, and internal control activities by preparing documentation and ensuring compliance.
• Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, scalability, reporting quality, data integrity, and control effectiveness.
