Job summary

The Internet Society is seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to oversee GAAP-compliant corporate accounting for ISOC and ISOC Foundation. You will supervise a Senior Accountant and partner with Payables, Payroll, and Budgeting to deliver timely financial closes and audits.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Accounting with 7-10 years of experience.
• CPA certification strongly preferred.
• Strong reporting and presentation skills.
• Detail-oriented with integrity and professionalism.
• Experience leading monthly close and audits in multi-entity nonprofit.
• Nonprofit accounting experience including donor reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee GAAP-compliant accounting close processes.
• Maintain and improve policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Drive continuous improvement in financial operations with new technology.
• Co-lead financial systems administration and reporting tools.
• Oversee annual corporate audits and timely year-end audit.
• Lead preparation of IRS Form 990 and other regulatory filings.
• Oversee accounting for multiple legal entities and multi-currency transactions.
• Coordinate with local providers for statutory audits and regulatory filings for international entities.
• Partner with HR to integrate global payroll.
• Lead grant accounting and donor reporting.
• Collaborate with program leaders on award terms and compliance.
• Serve as technical accounting resource across the organization.
• Identify opportunities to optimize Finance processes.
• Other duties as assigned.
