Job summary

Transforming Age is seeking a Senior Accountant to support all aspects of the General Ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting for our nonprofit network. You will analyze complex data, ensure compliance with GAAP, and prepare materials for auditors and regulatory bodies.

The role offers remote work in the United States, competitive salary with up to $90k for CPA holders, and benefits including medical, vision, dental, and an immediate 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field.
• At least 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
• Multi-state tax accounting experience.
• 3+ years as a public accountant preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare preferred.
• Workday experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides analysis and reconciliation of complex financial data, ensuring regulations and procedures.
• Reviews accounting, internal controls and procedures for compliance and efficiency.
• Identifies trends in transactions and prepares reports for auditors and regulators.
• Assists with tax filing preparation and cost reports.
• Plans and carries out month-end close and related reporting.
• Posts journal entries and ensures proper approvals in the process.
• Prepares balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
• Prepares materials for auditors, tax returns and regulatory agencies.
• Acts as accounting support liaison to executive director and department heads.
• Monitors department work to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs general payroll and fixed asset management as needed.
• Promotes Transforming Age mission and values.
