Job summary

Transforming Age is seeking a Senior Accountant to support all aspects of the General Ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting for our nonprofit network dedicated to improving seniors’ lives. You will analyze complex data, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate with executives and department heads to maintain accurate financial statements.

The role requires at least 5 years of accounting experience, GAAP knowledge, and preferred CPA certification; Workday exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP.
• Experience with multi-state tax accounting.
• Public accounting experience 3+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and reconcile complex financial data and ensure regulatory and accounting procedures are followed.
• Review accounting processes for compliance, efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in financial statements and reports.
• Identify trends or anomalies in transactions and address matters within scope; report findings to leadership.
• Assist with tax filings and cost report preparations for compliance.
• Oversee month-end close, produce financial reports, and perform budget-to-actual analyses.
• Post journal entries during month-end close with proper segregation of duties.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for facilities.
• Prepare materials for auditors, tax returns, and regulators; present findings and recommendations.
• Serve as main contact and provide accounting support to executive director and department heads.
• Monitor department workflows to improve efficiency while maintaining accuracy.
• Support payroll and fixed asset management as needed.
