Job summary

Transforming Age is a nonprofit network focused on improving seniors’ lives. We’re hiring a Senior Accountant to manage all facets of the General Ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting for our organization.

You will provide analysis, ensure compliance, and support auditors and regulatory bodies, while collaborating with executive leadership and facility heads. This role offers a remote work option and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field.
• At least 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and regulations.
• Multi-state tax accounting experience.
• Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes.
• 3+ years as a public accountant preferred.
• CPA strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of healthcare preferred.
• Workday experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide analysis and reconciliation of complex financial data to ensure regulatory and accounting compliance.
• Review current accounting procedures to improve compliance, efficiency and accuracy.
• Identify trends or anomalies in accounting system transactions and report findings.
• Assist on tax filing preparation and cost report preparation.
• Plan and carry out month-end close activities with reports and budget-to-actual analysis.
• Post journal entries during month-end close with proper approvals.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations for assigned facilities.
• Prepare materials for auditors, tax returns and regulatory bodies.
• Serve as main contact for executive director and department heads.
• Monitor and optimize department workflows for efficiency.
• Perform general payroll and fixed asset management as needed.
• Promote Transforming Age mission and values in all duties.
