Job summary

Transforming Age is hiring a Senior Accountant to support all aspects of the General Ledger, month-end close, and financial statement reporting for the organization. The role is remote, with a salary range of $70,000 to $85,000 depending on experience, and up to $90,000 if CPA, plus medical, vision, dental, 401(k) with immediate match, and more.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of accounting and financial reporting experience
• Working knowledge of GAAP and regulations
• Multi-state tax accounting experience
• 3 or more years as a public accountant strongly preferred
• CPA strongly preferred
• Knowledge of healthcare preferred
• Workday experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Provides analysis and reconciliation of complex financial data to ensure regulations and procedures are observed.
• Reviews accounting procedures to identify opportunities to improve compliance, efficiency and accuracy.
• Identifies trends in accounting system transactions and reviews significance to programs and activities; prepares reports and acts as internal consultant.
• Assists on compliance activities including tax filing preparation and cost report preparation.
• Plans and oversees month-end close activities and prepares financial reports and budget-to-actual analyses.
• Posts journal entries during month-end close and ensures proper approvals.
• Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliations for facilities.
• Prepares materials for auditors, tax returns, regulatory agencies with findings and recommendations.
• Serves as main accounting contact to executive director and department heads.
• Monitors and analyzes department work to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Performs general payroll functions as needed.
• Performs general fixed asset management as needed.
• Promotes Transforming Age mission and culture.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
