Higher Options is seeking a Senior Accountant / Financial Controller to support the US-based hospitality and events brands. The role is remote and full-time, requiring 40 hours per week with overlap to US Central Time.

You will manage QuickBooks Online, oversee multi-entity accounting, and drive accurate monthly close across entities, ensuring robust financial reporting and compliance with GAAP. Ideal candidates have 4+ years in accounting, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and preferably CPA.

Qualifications

• Hands-on QuickBooks Online experience and strong understanding of financial statements.
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and reconciliations.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting best practices.
• Ability to explain transaction classifications and their impact on financials.
• Strong, clear written and verbal English communication.

Responsibilities

• Own and maintain accurate accounting records in QuickBooks Online.
• Review and classify transactions with impact on income statement and balance sheet.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements across entities.
• Analyze month-over-month results and flag unusual discrepancies.
• Reconcile bank accounts and intercompany transactions; manage fixed assets and inventory records.
• Lead month-end and year-end close processes with timeliness and accuracy.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable; support payroll review and reporting.
• Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting; coordinate with external accountants.
