The University of New Hampshire in Concord seeks an experienced accountant reporting to the Manager, Accounting and Financial Reporting. This role handles advanced accounting duties, ledger maintenance, and journal documentation within the USNH Financial Operations Center, with potential for remote work.

You will analyze financial data, prepare statements, monitor budgets, coordinate billings, and support auditors while ensuring compliance with policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• ~2 years’ experience
• Proficiency in standard finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control practices
• Ability to interact with standard technology platforms and navigate automated accounting systems

Responsabilités

• Performs advanced, multifaceted accounting and related functions (ledger maintenance, cost/financial analysis, posting, inventory control)
• Analyses complex financial data and prepares management reports, financial statements, and other general accounting duties
• Monitors revenue/expenses and ensures expenditure control and compliance with funding rules and policies
• Coordinates preparation of billings, cost reports, and preliminary financial statements for various funding sources
• Coordinates journal vouchers and corrections with Finance Divisions
• Oversees input and handling of financial data reports and maintains accounting records
• Maintains system-wide chart of accounts and performs budget/revenue/expense corrections
• Coordinates data processing batches, investigates discrepancies, and resolves complex problems
• Provides strategic support for internal fiscal systems and procedures
• Interacts with auditors and participates in auditing activities
• Keeps knowledge of USNH policies and procedures and adheres to standards
• Advises on financial policies to faculty/staff and provides training as needed
• Performs related duties as assigned
