Job summary

The University System of New Hampshire is seeking an experienced accountant to perform advanced general and financial reporting duties within the Financial Operations Center. This role supports journal documentation, ledger analysis, and complex reconciliations.

The position offers remote flexibility and collaboration with multiple finance divisions. Responsibilities include preparing statements, cost analyses, and management reporting, while ensuring compliance with funding sources and policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 2 years of experience required.
• Knowledge of standard finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control practices.
• Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbal.
• Familiarity with automated accounting/financial systems.
• Experience in a shared services or tax-exempt environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced, multifaceted accounting duties including ledger maintenance and analysis.
• Prepare management reports, financial statements, and other accounting functions.
• Monitor revenue and expenses for unit accounts and ensure expenditure control.
• Coordinate preparation of billings, cost reports, and financial statements for funding sources.
• Prepare and adjust journal vouchers with finance division input and corrections.
• Oversee data input and maintenance of accounting records and reports.
• Assist with chart of accounts maintenance and complex bank reconciliations.
• Support budget, revenue, and expense corrections and reconciliation processes.
• Coordinate data processing batches, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues.
• Provide guidance on internal fiscal systems and accounting procedures.
