Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year experience in physician billing or third-party payer environment.
• Strong customer service and patient-focused orientation; ability to communicate and respond to complex situations.
• Understanding of contracts, insurance benefits, exclusions and billing requirements; claim forms (HMOs, PPOs, Medicare, Medicaid).

Responsibilities

• Collect full payment from patient or guarantor.
• Apply payments to each date of service.
• Establish and document payment arrangements in billing system.
• Handle inquiries, disputes, and complaints; escalate as needed.
• Obtain insurance, demographic, and guarantor information; bill third parties.
• Document in system the summary of work performed.
