SailPoint is seeking a Security Software Engineer to build custom security tools and middleware, bridging diverse security stacks with API-first approaches. You will work across Security Operations, IT, and Engineering to implement automated controls, telemetry, and secure coding practices.

The role can be remote or based in Austin, TX, offering growth in a fast-paced security team focused on IAM, Zero Trust, and enterprise protection.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in software engineering, security automation, or DevOps building internal tools.
• Experience with full-stack dev and modern frontend frameworks for web apps.
• Proficient in API integration languages like Python, Go, or Node.js.
• Hands-on with APIs, OAuth/OIDC, webhooks, and integration layers.
• Familiar with AWS cloud, serverless (Lambda) or containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Solid understanding of IAM, Zero Trust, and MAM/MDM concepts.
• Experience with CI/CD release automation and IaC (Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain robust security tools, middleware, and automation scripts.
• Create tool-agnostic data flows using REST, GraphQL, and Webhooks.
• Address gaps in vendor capabilities with custom software solutions.
• Build intuitive UIs and dashboards for Security Operations and business users.
• Maintain automated deployment pipelines for security controls and SOAR workflows.
• Translate security policies into automated, code-driven solutions.
• Ensure development follows SSDLC and compliance standards (ISO, NIST, SOX).
