Job summary

SailPoint is seeking a Principal Security Architect to build and mature a cybersecurity architecture practice within the Security Architecture and Engineering team. You will translate complex architectures into actionable security solutions, drive domain specialization, and secure executive alignment for funding and prioritization.

This remote role can be based in Austin, TX, with a strong emphasis on strategic roadmaps and delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, enterprise architecture, or security engineering.
• Deep expertise across Cloud Security, Application Security, Identity Security, Network Security.
• Experience developing reference architectures and strategic roadmaps.
• Strong technical background with hands-on ability to translate concepts into viable solutions.
• Experience aligning security initiatives with business objectives and securing leadership buy-in.
• Familiarity with SABSA, NIST, ISO.
• Strong interpersonal and teaming skills; ability to mentor peers and influence stakeholders.
• Ability to operate in an agile, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Help build and establish a mature cybersecurity architecture practice.
• Establish specialization domains (Cloud Security, Application Security, Network Security, etc.).
• Produce holistic architectures, reference architectures, and influence roadmaps to meet objectives and address threats.
• Bridge architecture and engineering by turning abstract concepts into viable trusted solutions.
• Review engagements to identify gaps and opportunities; surface high-impact initiatives.
• Enrich opportunities with metadata to surface strategic initiatives.
• Secure leadership alignment and funding to fund projects.
• Lead hands-on projects and mentor peer architects and engineers.
