Job summary

AppFolio is seeking a Lead Technical Program Manager, Risk & Security to drive cross-functional security initiatives across engineering, SRE, IT, and operations. You will unify application security, infrastructure security, vulnerability management, and adversarial testing into a single roadmap.

You’ll report within Information Security, bridging technical security with partner engineering teams to mitigate risk and maintain customer trust. Exceptionally strong communication is essential.

Qualifications

• Translate multi-domain security initiatives into structured roadmaps.
• Facilitate cross-functional alignment across security, software engineering, SRE and IT.
• Evaluate dependencies and present options to senior leadership.
• Experience using Jira to manage complex backlogs and delivery timelines.

Responsibilities

• Establish, maintain, and execute strategic roadmaps for security initiatives.
• Partner with Engineering, SRE, IT and Business Systems to scope requirements and milestones.
• Implement intake and prioritization processes for security projects.
• Identify blockers and dependencies, escalating with options and trade-offs.
• Serve as liaison for security-driven initiatives with internal and external partners.
• Deliver executive-ready reporting on program health and outcomes.
