Job summary

Workiva is seeking a Security Intern to join the Information Security team. You will support incident response, document security issues, and help expand monitoring infrastructure while developing tools for security and compliance tasks. Remote/hybrid opportunities are available with minimal travel.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in CS/CE/MIS programs, with basic programming knowledge and familiarity with AWS/GAE and Linux. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are valued.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in a relevant field or similar degree.
• Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools or penetration testing techniques is a plus.
• Basic programming knowledge in Python, Java, SQL, Go, or Dart is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist with incident response when an actionable incident is confirmed.
• Document, investigate, and report on information security issues and trends.
• Help expand security monitoring by configuring tools and devices.
• Develop tools to assist with security and compliance tasks.
• Assist with vulnerability testing of web applications to identify weaknesses.
