Job summary

Block is seeking an experienced engineer to lead third-party risk management and business continuity for Square Financial Services. You will design and operationalize programs, span teams, and build data pipelines and AI workflows that turn governance into products.

You will own cross-team problem framing, implement policy-as-code, integrate systems, and automate evidence collection while partnering with Security, Resilience, and Engineering to improve security and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience in third-party risk management and business continuity program ownership.
• 4+ years building production software in backend, platform, data, or software engineering.
• Multi-year ownership of a production system, including on-call and SLOs.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and agent-based workflows.
• Experience with REST APIs, webhooks, authentication flows, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience pulling and joining data from multiple sources.

Responsibilities

• Own and operationalize a third-party risk management and business continuity program.
• Define the technical approach for ambiguous, cross-team problem spaces in an early-stage program.
• Build and operate pipelines/integrations to aggregate risk signals across Block and SFS.
