Block is seeking a risk engineering leader for SFS Risk Management to scale third-party risk and business continuity programs, building data pipelines and agentic AI workflows. You will define technical direction across teams, integrate systems of record, and turn governance into code with auditable checks.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years in backend/data, experience with LLMs, REST APIs, cloud infra, and a pragmatic, governance-minded mindset.

Qualifications

• 4+ years building production software in backend, platform, data, or software engineering.
• Experience shaping technical direction across teams in ambiguous spaces.
• Hands-on with LLMs, prompting, agents, or AI-backed features; judgment matters.
• Experience pulling, normalizing, and joining data from multiple sources.
• Proficiency in at least one of Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go.
• Ability to design and implement policy-as-code for compliance.

Responsabilités

• Own and operationalize a third-party risk management and business continuity program.
• Define the technical approach for ambiguous, cross-team problem spaces.
• Build and operate pipelines and integrations for risk, control, and asset signals.
• Translate standards into policy-as-code and automated checks.
• Design agentic AI workflows with auditable decision layers.
• Automate evidence collection and continuous control monitoring.
• Partner with Security, Procurement, Resilience and Engineering teams.
• Contribute to technical design discussions on platform reliability.
