Job summary

GuidePoint Security is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to support the implementation, optimization, and operation of security operations technologies and workflows across SIEM, SOAR, and observability initiatives. You will develop telemetry pipelines, detection content, and security automation while delivering exceptional service to clients and internal teams.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, analytical, and client communication skills, and you will influence project scope,

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in security operations, SIEM engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise SIEM platform.
• Experience in log data, telemetry, parsing, normalization, and onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Configure ingestion of security telemetry into SIEM with agents, APIs, syslog, and native integrations.
• Develop, test, map, and tune SIEM detection rules to reduce false positives.
• Maintain and optimize SIEM and SOAR platforms, integrations, and workflows.
• Document current-state architectures, data flows, and SOC processes.
• Communicate issues, risks, and progress to leads, PMs, and clients.
• Stay aware of SIEM, SOAR, XDR, observability, and AI-enabled security tech.
