Job summary

Syms Strategic Group, LLC is seeking a talented Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a remote role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. The position requires strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python and experience in automated testing.

You will develop and execute test plans and test scripts, conduct walkthroughs with stakeholders, and lead verification across web APIs and IT systems. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications

• Strong programming skills in C#, Java, or Python.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing with SDLC knowledge.
• Proficiency in writing and executing test cases, test scripts, and test plans.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and version control tools.
• Experience testing web apps, APIs, and security testing.
• Ability to mentor junior testers and collaborate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Conduct test walkthroughs with Test Managers and leads.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure defect-free operation of IT systems.
• Document and communicate test results and progress to management.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of issues.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Provide technical solutions to complex problems.
