Job summary

Syms Strategic Group LLC is seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) for a remote, full-time role supporting the Veterans Affairs department. Candidates should have strong programming skills in C#, .NET, Java or Python and experience in both manual and automated testing.

Ideal applicants will have a track record on complex software projects, knowledge of SDLC/AGILE, and the ability to work independently. U.S. Citizenship and Public Trust eligibility is required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Must have strong programming skills in C#, .NET, Java or Python.
• Experience with both manual and automated testing across complex projects.
• Familiar with Agile/Scrum and SDLC processes.
• Proficient in writing/executing test cases and using test automation tools.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, and performance testing tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans, cases and procedures to meet requirements.
• Write test cases/scripts and identify data for scenarios.
• Conduct walkthroughs with test managers and leads.
• Perform and lead tests to ensure defect-free operation.
• Document, communicate and analyze test results; support issue resolution.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting; support other IT activities as needed.
