Pearson, the world’s learning company, is seeking Associates to score test responses for New York teacher candidates remotely from Malta, NY. You will evaluate responses, internalize scoring standards, and participate in consensus scoring with other scorers.

The role requires a current teaching certification or equivalent recent content-area experience and basic computer skills. Training precedes scoring, and sessions run Mon-Fri with periodic days every 8 weeks.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current teaching certification in the subject area and have taught in schools (public or private) within the last three years (including regular substitutes).
• Alternatively, educators from colleges/universities who have taught or advised in the content area in the last three years.
• Or hold a degree in the content area with professional employment in the content area in the last three years.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate responses to test questions by New York teacher candidates.
• Internalize scoring standards and engage in consensus scoring with other scorers.
• Recognize and discuss bias types and strategies to reduce bias in scoring.
• Meet quality and productivity requirements and pass a qualifying test before scoring.
