Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Scoping & Estimating Engineer to support transmission line and substation projects by developing scopes, estimates, schedules, and resource plans. You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, designers, drafters, stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to evaluate requirements and produce conceptual estimates for successful execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
PE License or FE certification preferred.
At least 2 years engineering experience.

Responsibilities

Develop conceptual scopes and estimates for transmission line and substation projects.
Analyze drawings and documents to estimate labor, materials, equipment, and costs.
Identify risks, scope gaps, and cost drivers impacting execution.
Collaborate with sponsors to define plans and durations.
Review estimates for completeness, contingency, and escalation.
Maintain scope, cost, and schedule documentation during development.
Support change management and revisions documentation.
Provide project status updates and support emergent needs.
Coordinate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors during estimating.
Ensure estimates adhere to standards and best practices.
Participate in reviews, peer assessments, and lessons learned audits.
Support continuous improvement of estimating methodologies and tools.
Engage in industry forums to stay current.
