Job summary

SSP International, Inc. seeks a Science Educator to lead professional learning for high school science teachers and coach teachers within the STEM Learning Institute. You will help design chemistry-focused, standards-aligned instructional materials and support program partners.

The role emphasizes inquiry-based, student-centered pedagogy, collaboration with staff, and representing the Institute at events. Remote work is supported with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, science education, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience teaching high school science.
• Demonstrated success leading teacher professional learning or instructional coaching.
• Strong knowledge of inquiry-based and student-centered instructional strategies.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver professional learning experiences for high school science teachers.
• Provide ongoing instructional coaching and feedback for teachers in programs.
• Facilitate teacher check-ins to foster a professional community and share best practices.
• Collaborate to develop high school science instructional materials aligned to standards.
• Contribute expertise in chemistry pedagogy to ensure rigorous, engaging materials.
• Pilot and refine instructional materials through field testing and feedback.
• Support the Director and team in program implementation and logistics.
• Represent the STEM Learning Institute at conferences and partner meetings; perform other duties.
