Job summary

Smart Tech Contracting, LLC is seeking a SCADA Engineer II to support development, configuration, testing, and commissioning of SCADA systems for mission-critical infrastructure. This remote-first role offers on-site exposure for learning and occasional field work across multiple sites.

You will work under senior engineers to build strong technical fundamentals, participate in FAT/IST, and contribute to design reviews and documentation while traveling up to 75% as required.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience supporting or developing SCADA or control systems in industrial, utility, or infrastructure environments.
• Foundational understanding of SCADA concepts, control systems, and system integration.
• Exposure to FAT, IST, commissioning, or field coordination activities.
• Ability to execute assigned tasks independently with guidance and review.

Responsibilities

• Develop and configure SCADA systems per project requirements and STC standards.
• Implement HMI graphics, alarms, data models, and system logic.
• Assist in scripting templates and reusable components under guidance.
• Translate documented sequences to functional SCADA configurations.
• Test and validate SCADA components in development and staging environments.
• Support on-site activities during construction and commissioning phases.
• Participate in design reviews, coordination meetings, and commissioning planning.
• Document observations and lessons learned to support continuous improvement.
