Job summary

Fifth Third Bank is seeking an SBA Market Specialist focused on origination, closing, and servicing of government-guaranteed small business loans. You will promote SBA lending products and build strong internal and external relationships while meeting revenue targets.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive knowledge of SBA loan programs and other federal, state and municipal alternative lending products.
• Bachelor's Degree or 4 years related experience required.
• Minimum 5 years Commercial banking experience or 5 years sales and underwriting experience.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data in order to make sound credit decisions.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Advanced to intermediate PC skills.

Responsibilities

• Achieve target for annualized loan production as measured by net revenue and loan amount within risk tolerances.
• Identify qualified prospects by soliciting alternative loan products through internal sources and community opportunities.
• Direct mail solicitation and media advertising; interview applicants to determine qualifications and cross-sell bank services.
• Develop internal relationships with Business Banking, Retail and Commercial relationship managers as a liaison for alternative lending products.
• Develop external relationships with governmental and community agencies to promote lending products.
• Coordinate loan documents with Middle Office after analysis and recommendations.
• Participate in origination, closing, packaging, servicing and liquidation of SBA loans to conform with SBA procedures and bank policies.
• Balance risk and return; monitor charge-offs and engage in credit/risk management policies.
• Utilize sales playbook and consultative sales behaviors to be a trusted advisor and drive client experience and One Bank execution.
