Fifth Third Bank is seeking an SBA Lead Underwriter to evaluate loan requests within approved authority. You will support junior underwriters with financial analysis, loan structuring, and SBA guidelines to ensure risk controls and customer outcomes.

Based in a virtual environment with potential Ohio or national coverage, the role offers complex credit decisions, close collaboration with relationship managers, and opportunities to influence SBA product knowledge and training across the team.

Formación

• College degree in accounting, finance, or economics, or equivalent industry experience.
• Total work experience of 5 years with 2–4 years underwriting or credit experience.
• Thorough knowledge of SBA SOP 50-10-6 and related guides.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook; strong verbal and written communication.
• Detail oriented, highly organized with ability to manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilidades

• Underwriting focus on new money to new borrowers with SBA lending.
• Collaborate with relationship managers on initial deal review, modeling and structuring.
• Coordinate with RM and Credit to obtain proper approvals and terms.
• Prepare credit approval documents and changes in terms.
• Develop training guidelines for SBA lending and ensure policy adherence.
• Oversee compliance with SBA programs and regulations; manage closing and post-closing items.
