Job summary

SCAN Health Plan in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Supervisor of Medical Management (RN) to oversee clinical staff, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive performance improvements.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license with an Associate's in Nursing, plus 2–3 years of leadership and inpatient Utilization Management experience, and is comfortable with mostly remote work and monthly HQ visits.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• 2-3 years of related experience with leadership.
• Experience with inpatient Utilization Management.
• Medicare Advantage knowledge.
• Strong communication and team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight of Medical Management staff and department adherence to protocols.
• Assess clinical staff performance and develop education and improvement plans.
• Ensure regulatory and quality standards compliance (CMS, DMHC, DHCS, NCQA).
• Coach staff and escalate complex clinical issues as needed.
• Maintain current policies, procedures, workflows, and training materials.
• Support remote work and travel to SCAN's headquarters monthly.
