Job summary

CorVel Corporation is hiring a registered nurse for a Medical Case Manager role across several Georgia locations, with work-from-home and on-the-road responsibilities. The position emphasizes hands-on case management, patient collaboration, and coordination with healthcare providers, families, and employers.

Ideal candidates will have RN licensure in the operating state and may hold CCM, COHN, CRRN, or CDMS certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN Licensure in state of operation.
• Certification as CCM/COHN/CRRN/CDMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides in-person and telephonic Medical Case Management to individuals, involving the patient, physician, other health care providers, the employer, and the referral source.
• Utilizes medical and nursing knowledge to discuss treatment plans with physicians and discuss alternate plans.
• Provides assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient's progress.
• Evaluates patient's treatment plan for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost effectiveness.
• Attends doctors, other providers, home and discharge planning conferences for determining appropriateness of care and long-term strategy.
• Conducts home visits for initial evaluation and coordinates care such as durable medical equipment and nursing services.
• Regular travel up to ~60% of work time; overnight travel may be required.
