Job summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a Telephonic Case Manager to coordinate resources and develop cost-effective, personalized care plans for ill or injured individuals. This remote role supports quality treatment and timely return to work, using clinical expertise to assess treatment plans and discuss options with physicians, patients, and adjusters.

The position emphasizes communication, documentation, and collaboration within the Case Management department to achieve favorable outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; RN licensure in state of operation preferred.
• 3+ years clinical experience, preferably in rehabilitation.
• URAC recognized Case Management certification required within 3 years if no national cert.
• Strong clinical background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation preferred.
• Cost containment background such as utilization review or managed care helpful.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical case management through coordination with patient, physician, other health care providers, employer, and referral source.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient's progress.
• Evaluate treatment plan for appropriateness, medical necessity, and cost effectiveness.
• Discuss current treatment plans with physician and discuss alternate plans.
• Make medical recommendations of available treatment plans to payer.
• Coordinate delivery of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
• Devise cost-effective strategies for medical care.
• Prepare organized reports within a specified timeframe.
• Maintain minimum Productivity Standard of 95% per month.
