Job summary

CorVel Corporation is seeking a Telephonic Case Manager to coordinate resources and develop cost-efficient, personalized care plans for ill or injured individuals. This remote role relies on clinical expertise to assess treatment appropriateness and support timely return to work, with direct communication to treating physicians.

The position requires RN licensure in the operating state and 3+ years of clinical experience; URAC Case Management certification should be obtained within 3 years if

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing school.
• Current RN Licensure in state of operation.
• 3+ years of clinical experience, preferably rehabilitation.
• URAC recognized Case Management certification required within 3 years if not present at hire.
• Strong background in orthopedics, neurology, or rehabilitation preferred.
• Cost containment background in utilization review or managed care helpful.
• CIRS or CCM certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical case management coordinating with patient, physician, employers, and referral source.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient progress.
• Evaluate treatment plan for medical necessity and cost effectiveness.
• Discuss current or alternate plans with physician using medical knowledge.
• Make medical recommendations of available treatment plans to payer.
• Coordinate delivery of durable medical equipment and nursing services.
• Devise cost-effective strategies for medical care.
• Prepare organized reports within a specified timeframe.
• Meet productivity standards per month.
• Comply with safety rules under IIPP.
