Job summary

Sentry Insurance is seeking a Risk Control professional for the East Shared Services division, primarily serving Hartford, CT area with travel within Connecticut. Role supports underwriting with risk assessments and safety program development for various industries.

The position can be filled as Risk Control Consultant I or II, with pay ranges of $74,910-$112,310 (I) or $90,640-$135,960 (II). Remote work possible with regular field travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety or equivalent work experience.
• Emphasis in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or Physical Sciences preferred.
• 1-5 years of insurance safety consulting or safety work in a private industry (construction and manufacturing).
• High level of independence, organization, and self-motivation to work from home.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite facility evaluations to determine exposure control and maintenance needs.
• Assess facility protections (fire suppression and alarm systems) for occupancy and hazards.
• Complete detailed risk reports for Property, General Liability, Auto, and Workers' Comp lines.
• Assist clients with safety policy design and implementation for each account.
• Provide advanced risk management and consultative services to assigned clients.
• Perform Job-site safety inspections and OSHA 10-hour seminars for Regional construction line.
• Demonstrate safety management expertise across property, liability, fleet, and employee safety.
• Develop and conduct safety/risk seminars and training programs for accounts.
