Job summary

Sentry Insurance seeks a Risk Control Consultant to deliver safety and risk management services across NC/VA, providing underwriting with strong risk opinions and supporting profitable growth.

The role combines home-based work with field travel, developing safety policies, onsite evaluations, OSHA training, and client seminars to reduce losses across dealerships, construction, manufacturing, retail and real estate.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Safety or equivalent experience.
• Emphasis in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or Physical Sciences preferred.
• 1-5 years of insurance safety consulting or safety work in private industry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct onsite facility evaluations to assess exposures and maintenance needs.
• Assess facility protections (fire alarms, suppressions) for occupancy and hazards.
• Prepare detailed reports to assist underwriting and insurability.
• Assist in developing safety policies and procedures for accounts.
• Provide advanced risk management and consulting services to clients.
• Conduct OSHA 10-hour seminars and site safety inspections.
• Promote safety program adoption to reduce claims frequency and severity.
• Develop and execute safety seminars and service proposals.
