Astrana Health is seeking a Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist II to support the Houston market remotely CST/EST. You will conduct high-volume chart reviews to identify coding gaps and educate providers, translating findings into actionable insights.

The role requires CPC certification, 3+ years of risk adjustment experience, and the ability to travel up to 75% when needed. The national pay range is $70k–$85k, with remote work in CST/EST time zones.

Qualifications

• AAPC CPC certification required; CRC preferred.
• 3+ years of risk adjustment coding and/or billing experience.
• 1+ year of experience with targeted provider education.
• Ability to educate and train provider office staff.
• Proficiency with coding software and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Review diagnostic data and verify compliance with Medicare Advantage, ACA and commercial risk adjustment requirements.
• Provide education to providers individually or in groups on coding.
• Perform coding quality audits to ensure ICD-10-CM accuracy and CMS alignment.
• Interact with physicians on coding, documentation policies and ambiguous notes.
• Audit analysis and feedback on noncompliance issues detected.
• Stay current on ICD-10, HCC, and payer requirements.
• Recommend process improvements and lead/participate in projects.
• Mentor new staff and support ongoing coder training.
