Job summary

Astrana Health, Inc. is seeking a Risk Adjustment Coding Specialist II to support the Northern California market, including San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara.

You will conduct high-volume chart reviews to identify coding gaps and educate providers to improve CMS risk adjustment accuracy and KPIs. Travel up to 50–75% of time to provider offices, with a hybrid work structure combining field and remote work.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain AAPC or AHIMA certification (CCS-P/CCS/CPC).
• At least 3 years of risk adjustment coding/billing experience.
• Travel up to 75% of work time.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Review provider documentation to ensure CMS risk adjustment requirements are met and educate providers.
• Review medical records for HCC coding accuracy and documentation alignment.
• Perform ICD-10-CM code abstraction and coding quality audits.
• Interact with physicians regarding coding, billing, and documentation policies.
• Provide auditing analysis and feedback on noncompliance issues.
• Stay current on ICD-10/HCC updates and payer requirements.
