Job summary

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in copyright/permissions or related fields, strong documentation skills, and ability to navigate licensing processes.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with copyright, rights and permissions, and asset licensing.
  • Ability to independently research rights holders and obtain permissions.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple licenses and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Review content for copyright, licensing, and permissions requirements.
  • Research ownership and identify rights holders.
  • Obtain permissions and licenses for third-party materials.
  • Negotiate licensing terms, usage rights, and fees.
  • Draft permission requests and licensing agreements using templates.
  • Purchase and maintain third-party licenses.
  • Track license terms, renewals, and expirations.
  • Audit for ongoing copyright and licensing compliance.
  • Maintain rights, permissions, and asset records in a DAM system.
  • Explain copyright restrictions to internal teams.
  • Support IP team on related initiatives.
  • Assist external requests for permission to use IP.
  • Identify improvements for rights and permissions processes.
