Job summary

Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Rights & Permissions Specialist to support the contracts and intellectual property function for a national nonprofit. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience and 3+ years preferred, but strong experience will be considered.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with copyright, rights and permissions and/or asset licensing.
  • Ability to independently research rights holders and navigate third-party permission processes.
  • Familiarity with licensing agreements, contractual terms, IP rights, and copyright requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review content for copyright, licensing, and permissions requirements.
  • Research copyright ownership and identify rights holders.
  • Obtain permissions and licenses for third-party materials.
  • Negotiate licensing terms, usage rights, and fees.
  • Draft permission requests and licensing agreements using templates.
  • Maintain licenses and track terms, renewals, and expirations.
  • Record rights and assets in a Digital Asset Management (DAM) system.
  • Explain copyright restrictions to internal teams and support IP initiatives.
  • Assist with external permission requests and process improvements.
