Job summary

Avel eCare, based in Sioux Falls, SD, seeks a Rheumatologist to join our Specialty Clinic as a PRN / 1099 Independent Contractor. This remote role offers flexible scheduling with 16 hours per week and telemedicine-based patient care from home.

You will diagnose and manage rheumatic diseases, prescribe DMARDs/biologics, educate patients, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. A valid US license and DEA certification are required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree required.
• Minimum 1 year of Rheumatology practice.
• Telemedicine experience preferred but not required.
• Active DEA certification and Board Certification/Board Eligible in Rheumatology.
• At least one unrestricted state license (any state in the U.S.). Colorado license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote consultations to diagnose and treat rheumatic diseases.
• Develop treatment plans and prescribe DMARDs, biologics, and other therapies.
• Provide patient education to manage chronic rheumatic conditions.
• Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record system.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
• Stay up to date with rheumatology and telemedicine best practices.
