Job summary

Cedars-Sinai is seeking a Revenue Cycle Specialist II to support patient financial services in collections, claims resubmission, and account follow-up. The role requires strong customer service and analytic skills with an understanding of payor contracts.

The position may involve cross-training in other revenue cycle areas and back-up coverage, with a focus on accuracy, timely processing, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years’ hospital or professional billing and/or collections experience required; four+ years preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Experience with Medicare, Medi-Cal and other payors a plus.
• Basic computer and navigation skills; MS Office, Web/Vs, Emdeon and CS-Link preferred.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy guidelines preferred.
• Ability to perform basic math and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercial collections support to Patient Financial Services.
• Review and resubmit claims to third-party payors and perform account follow-up.
• Enter and update information in accounts and monitor work queues for timely resolutions.
• Explain payor contracts and Cedars-Sinai policies to stakeholders and assist team members as needed.
• Possibly cross-train in other revenue cycle functions and provide back-up coverage.
