Job summary

Radiology Associates of Hartford is seeking a remote Revenue Cycle Specialist to review stalled, denied, and pending claims and coordinate with physicians, coders, and billing partners to resolve issues.

You will review coder notes and clinical documentation to identify needed records, monitor claim status, attach supporting documentation, ensure HIPAA compliance, and help with basic revenue cycle reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred in healthcare administration, finance, accounting or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, medical billing, finance, or healthcare analytics.
• Experience with billing, coding, reimbursements, and documenting HIPAA-compliant processes.

Responsibilities

• Review and follow up on stalled, denied, and pending claims to identify and resolve billing, coding, and documentation issues.
• Review coder notes, clinical documentation, scanned records, and system information to identify documentation needed for accurate coding and reimbursement.
• Coordinate with physicians, referring providers, coders, and billing partners to obtain clarification or physician addenda for claim resolution.
• Review clinical and exam information for discrepancies that may affect coding or billing and update within authorized systems.
• Track, attach, and update supporting documentation and physician addenda in billing portals.
• Monitor claim status and communicate outstanding issues to ensure timely resolution and resubmission.
• Identify recurring issues and communicate opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain records of claim resolution activities and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Perform basic revenue cycle reporting and analysis (denials, AR, reimbursement trends).
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
