Job summary

Guidant Financial offers a fully remote role supporting entrepreneurs nationwide, with work from home flexibility and complete home-office setup. The Retirement Plan Operations Specialist will learn the full process of administering 401(k) plans, from document review to year-end reporting and IRS Form 5500 filings.

You will gain practical experience and accelerate learning through hands-on training, client communications, and software-assisted plan testing.

Qualifications

• 1 to 5 years of adjacent back-office financial operations experience in one or more of the following areas: benefits administration, money movement and wires, insurance claims processing, tax prep processing, loan or mortgage document processing, or compliance or quality-control support
• Basic knowledge of 401(k) plan structure, ROBS, and IRS/DOL regulations is preferred
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field such as business or finance, or equivalent work experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Work with clients to obtain necessary information to prepare the annual reporting
• Review documents submitted by clients for completeness and accuracy
• Reconcile plans with only rollovers and plan stock using Excel and administration software
• Utilize administration software to complete 401(k) testing and reporting
• Make outgoing reminder calls and send emails to clients during the plan year reporting process
• Prepare required 401(k) plan government filings, including the IRS Form 5500, using filing software
• Educate clients regarding the administration of their 401(k) plan and 401(k) plan documents

Education
