Job summary

Health System is seeking a Research Computing Services Manager to lead non-desktop computing infrastructure, including Linux/Windows servers, storage, and databases, guiding cross-functional teams to ensure secure, reliable research computing operations. This remote role in OH/FL/NV requires Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

with weekend on-call on rotation and up to 5% travel. Ideal candidates will have strong IT management experience in cloud or hybrid environments and a strategic planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, science or related field and ten years’ IT experience.
• OR Associate’s degree and twelve years of IT experience.
• OR Master’s degree and seven years of IT experience.
• Five years of managerial experience in an IT group in a production scientific or corporate environment.
• Experience deploying services in cloud/hybrid cloud environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage the non-desktop research computing infrastructure across divisions.
• Develop standards for enterprise servers, storage and databases.
• Support strategic planning for turnover and organizing the group to meet changing demands.
• Plan, schedule and manage multiple IT projects requiring system resources.
• Monitor projects for schedule/budget and provide quality control oversight.
• Plan and coordinate department moves and acquire tools/equipment.
• Supervise Windows/Linux server administration, data storage and backups.
