Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking a detail-oriented Research Financial Analyst to support system-wide research financial operations. You will work with investigators, finance teams, and compliance stakeholders to ensure fiscal integrity and regulatory compliance across sponsored programs.

Responsibilities include managing GL entries, reconciliations, budget-to-actual reports, awards setup, invoicing, and developing dashboards for leadership review, while contributing to deficit reporting and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field required.
• 1-3 years of experience in research finance, grants management, or financial operations required.
• Experience with web-based applications and Microsoft Office required.
• Experience with sponsored programs or central research offices preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, sponsorship regulations, and compliance.
• Advanced Lawson, Excel, and reporting tools skills.

Responsibilities

• Support SPA financial activities while collaborating with investigators, finance, and compliance.
• Manage sponsored research finances for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
• Prepare GL entries, reconciliations, and budget-to-actual reports.
• Assist with award setup in financial systems with SPA coordination.
• Manage invoicing and accounts receivable to ensure timely collections.
• Develop financial reports and dashboards for leadership.
• Contribute to bi-monthly deficit reporting and inform leadership decisions.
• Process journal entries, budget adjustments, and activity closeouts aligned with sponsor timelines.
• Maintain knowledge of sponsor regulations and institutional policies to minimize risk.
• Provide guidance and training on financial reporting and systems.
