Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking a Financial Analyst to provide budgeting, forecasting and accounting support for research projects and department finances. The role maintains budgets, forecasts and reconciles data from Workday and other systems, delivering analyses for grant renewals and closeouts.

The position requires 3+ years of related experience, a strong numerical acumen, and knowledge of sponsored award lifecycles.

Qualifications

Must have 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, management and operations.
Proficiency with Workday or similar financial systems; familiarity with NIH and Uniform Guidance is preferred.

Responsibilities

Recommends financial objectives, strategies and policies aligned with approved goals.
Perform budget-to-actual reviews, monitor performance, identify variances and advise on corrective actions.
Analyze financial impact of personnel changes, purchasing, subawards, and other award activities.
Prepare and maintain timely financial reports and analyses for investigators and department administrators.
Use Workday and other systems to monitor activity and ensure accurate allocations.
Support grant renewals, progress reports, no-cost extensions, carryforward requests and closeouts.
Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies in coordination with stakeholders.
Assist with financial reconciliation and closeout activities.
Monitor award end dates and flag activities needing completion before closeout.
