Job summary

Grid Careers, LLC. is seeking an experienced relay technician or electrical testing specialist for a remote, nationwide role in the United States.

You will work from home between assignments and travel to project sites as required, collaborating with engineers and field crews to complete testing projects safely and efficiently. Responsibilities include testing, calibration, and maintenance on protective relays, switchgear, transformers, and control systems; commissioning new substations;

Qualifications

• Proven experience in relay protection, electrical/substation testing, or a similar technical field.
• Familiarity with test equipment such as Megger, Doble, Omicron.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to travel to project sites; remote home-based between assignments.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, calibration, and maintenance on protective relays, switchgear, transformers, and control systems.
• Commission new substation equipment and verify functionality according to industry standards.
• Conduct fault and root-cause analysis, troubleshoot electrical systems, and ensure accurate documentation.
• Collaborate with engineers and field crews to execute testing projects safely and efficiently.
