Job summary

Tactex Recruiting Advisors is assisting a Commercial Real Estate Investment Firm in finding an Accounting Manager with deep property accounting expertise for a 100% remote role in the United States.

The ideal candidate will lead a REIT property accounting team, oversee close processes, ensure GAAP and SEC reporting compliance, and collaborate with Asset Management, auditors, and external operators to deliver accurate, timely financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting required.
• 7–10 years of accounting experience in a top-tier firm or real estate environment.
• Experience supervising accounting teams and managing workloads.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC reporting for real estate and public companies.
• Experience managing close processes and reviewing journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules.
• Technical accounting experience in fixed assets, acquisition accounting, property tax accruals, and tenant reimbursements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day property accounting operations for the REIT.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Review journal entries and reconciliations; ensure delays are resolved.
• Perform analyses including AFFO reporting for leadership.
• Oversee fixed asset accounting, ASC 805 allocations, and depreciation.
• Coordinate internal controls, audits, and accounting policies.
