Job summary

Transwestern is seeking a Client Accountant to perform daily property accounting tasks for assigned properties, including financial reporting, journal entries, reconciliations, and oversight of operating statements. This role utilizes MRI or Yardi software and supports reporting deadlines with the property management team.

The position emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and timely communication with tenants, owners, and auditors, with a remote work location and standard office duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 2-3 years of fee-based property management accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and financial terms.
• Experience with MRI or Yardi.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and Adobe.
• Strong analytical and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review tenant billings and adjustments; submit CM batches for review.
• Post cash receipts; maintain property cash balances.
• Approve large accounts payable disbursements; prepare weekly AP report.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for all accounts.
• Post monthly Rent Roll changes; verify moves and rent steps.
• Review delinquency reports; apply cash receipts to tenants.
• Ensure GL and sub-ledgers tie to financial reports.
• Prepare owner distributions per agreement; initiate monthly distributions.
• Prepare monthly rent-up reports and post after approvals.
• Ensure timely payment of mortgages and property taxes.
