Job summary

United BioSource is seeking a Sr. Reimbursement Specialist to support patient access and payer negotiations from a remote work setup.

You will investigate insurance coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and guide patients through the reimbursement process while ensuring accuracy and efficiency. The role requires 4–6 years in insurance/pharma, strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4–6 years in insurance, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries; reimbursement experience preferred.
• Proficiency with MS Office; database experience a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills across stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Detail oriented with strong analytical skills.
• Knowledge of third party billing, coding, medical terminology, and prior authorizations.
• Willingness to travel as required; primarily remote position.

Responsibilities

• Conduct benefit investigations, verify insurance benefits for patient and physicians' offices, and obtain prior authorizations as required.
• Enter and maintain data in client database and monitor status of client case files.
• Participate in conference calls with Client Sales Representatives and physicians’ offices regarding status of cases, drug orders, and funding.
• Coordinate orders for product, shipment, and therapy initiation with pharmacy and patient.
• Triage and respond to calls from patients, insurers, physicians, sales reps, pharmacies, and homecare agencies.
• Identify REMS events and report as required; escalate potential risks to appropriate teams.
• Educate patients and prescribers about program requirements and maintain quality, safety, and compliance.
