Job summary

Cardinal Health is seeking a Case Manager to support patient access to therapy through Reimbursement Support Services. You will guide healthcare providers through referral intake, benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and coordination with payers and pharmacies to ensure timely therapy delivery.

The role is full-time and remote, with a structured training schedule and an hourly range. Strong attention to detail and clear communication are essential to succeed in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• 3-6 years experience in related field preferred
• Experience with major medical Fertility and Travel & Lodging BI experience preferred
• 1-2 years experience conducting and documenting patient health insurance benefit investigations, prior authorizations, and appeals, preferred
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and Commercially insured payer common practices and policies, preferred
• Knowledge of the Health Insurance Market Place and the Affordable Care Act preferred
• Knowledge of Medical/Pharmacy billing and coding is preferred
• Important to have a strong attention to detail

Responsibilities

• The Case Manager guides providers through the patient journey to therapy and coverage steps.
• Manage patient referral intake and benefit investigations.
• Initiate prior authorizations and step therapy reviews.
• Coordinate with insurers, pharmacies and support orgs to facilitate delivery.
• Maintain efficiency and strong organizational skills.
• Resolve payer/pharmacy issues to de-escalate conflicts.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• Meet daily task and benefit investigation goals in high-volume program.
