Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation is seeking a regulatory affairs professional to monitor and analyze nationwide legislative and regulatory activities. You will partner with legal and government relations teams to craft summaries and updates on legal requirements and to educate business units on implications.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in regulatory research, policy drafting, and executive communication, with experience in the health care sector.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in business or project management OR 9 years of experience in business or project management.
• 3 years of regulatory or legislative experience.
• Knowledge of legislative processes and methods, and experience providing information to senior staff regarding legal requirements arising from legislative and regulatory actions.
• Experience analyzing and drafting summaries of legislative and regulatory legal requirements.
• Knowledge of the regulatory process and Health Care Industry business processes, functions and drivers.
• Experience evaluating and re-engineering internal business processes, creating, reviewing, and managing business reporting, and strategic problem-solving.
• Knowledge of enterprise business operations.
• Creative thinking and writing skills, executive presentation, verbal communication, facilitation, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Experience working independently and responding to rapidly changing priorities.
• Master’s Degree or J.D.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze national, state, and federal legislative and regulatory activities applicable to HCSC and its subsidiaries.
• Prepare summaries and updates on legislative and regulatory actions.
• Educate and support business and implementation teams on relevant legal requirements.
• Perform and support multi-state regulatory research as needed.
